Anyway, Day 5, the turning of the tides!

2013 Movie List
60-51

60. The Pretty One
I'm willing to bet none of you, (Except Laura) have heard of this movie. It's an indie comedy starring Zoe Kazan and Zoe Kazan. yeah, I did that right. I liked it, it was a small film but pretty good. Zoe Kazan plays both characters well and the supporting cast was pretty good. overall it was a fun little film, but It was the last in the wave of films at TCFF 2013, so I'll have to watch it again to fully enjoy it.

Theres no trailer!

59. Homefront
Hey, another Jason Statham! this one's better than Parker. Parker was run of the mill as ever. Homefront actually has a few decent points. it doesn't fall into the cliche's of other movies this year, yet it's not so amazing that it's noteworthy. I enjoyed it overall though. even with the obvious Breaking bad cash in. and I really wanted to see the Koreans invade.

58. Lovelace
Well, I'll give you some advice. never watch this with a platonic, opposite sex, best friend. it makes for some awkward watching. not as bad as Unhung hero. but still. anyway Lovelace is very much a two half movie. the first half is basically 'yay porn! I can suck Penis!" (I'm not joking) the second half is "he forced me to, I'm Miserable!' Amanda Seyfried was great as Linda Lovelace and the rest were well played, it's just tough to watch and marred by being to into it's own pornness.

57. We're the Millers
The TCFF Hollywood Sneak Peak. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. everyone did their jobs in the cast and the humor was pretty random and fun. the only thing I really didn't like was Jennifer Anniston as a stripper. She was supposed to be a good dancer, yet she was robotic and her face looks full of plastic. Anyway it was fun.

56. Grandmaster
I Love Zhang Ziyi. She's my favorite Actress of all time. Now, that being said, Grandmaster was pretty good. Not as good as Ip man, but still good. It was a little long and I found myself not caring about some of the characters but the visuals were amazing. I'd recommend it if you Like other Chinese epics like Fearless or Crouching Tiger.

55. Erased
Another TCFF Movie! But I didn't see this at the festival. It was on my list but it got bumped out in scheduling. Anyway, it was a decent movie. not the best Action movie of the year but still pretty good. I enjoyed Aaron Eckart and Liana Liberato. overall the movie isn't all that memorable so it can't stand up to the juggernauts of the year.

54. Beautiful Creatures
Woah, another young adult book. this one impressed me. It's no Oscar winner but I enjoyed it. reminded me of some of the random scripts I used to write. As far as the actors go they all did a decent job, even the Bella Swan wannabe. Personally Emmy Rossum made the movie for me. what can I say, I'm Shameless

53. Orenthal the Musical
OJ as Othello in a Musical! That is all! I really liked this movie. It's a low budget film about a group trying to get an OJ Simpson musical made. I also feel a bit biased because I sat with the director and star during Unhung Hero. I guess we bonded a 'little' bit.

52. Kickass 2
I've been very Polarized about Kickass 2. I enjoyed it quite a bit but at the same time I really didn't like parts of it. It felt like it was trying too hard to overtrump the previous one, which already had that perfect balance to start with. The Sick stick would have been fine if it only had puking, having the diarrhea was just unneeded.

51. Blue Jasmine
Cate Blanchett deserves an Oscar for this role. She was absolutely mesmerizing as Jasmine. The first movie of the TCFF 2013 and it started with an Oscar caliber role. The rest of the cast did a fair job, to be expected from Woody Allen.
