Welcome back!
so I know I know it's been a while since i've posted anything of any value on here, fear not, I am still alive and kicking!
anyway I've been hearing many a rumbling about the Rooster Teeth Anime inspired show RWBY. ive been told I could play various characters or people wanting help with Props.
Welp, I finally finished up season 1. (I honestly thought it was 16 half hour episodes, so I was a little disappointed it was only about an hour long total.)
anyway, Review!
Pros:
I really enjoyed this show. It had a fun brisk pace and kept my interest all of the way through. It's short run time made for quick and easy viewing and the characters were fun and diverse enough that i could keep the all memorized.
Most shows with tons of characters end up being jumbled together and I'm trying to grasp who's who, but this one I was able to differentiate and remember everyone perfectly. they bounced off each other well and kept a fun and light tone throughout.
Personal favorite characters ended up as Torchwick (a potential cosplay) Blake and Ren. The most serious of the show. they all felt more realistic than the manic speedball energy of some of the others.
The best thing about the season was definitely the Fight scenes. You can tell they came up wih the idea based around the action set pieces. the fight in the crumbling ruins was definitely a highlight of the series.
Cons:
Just like Knights of Sidonia last month I had a hard time with the animation. I know it was low low budget and not professional and it was fine but there were plenty of times where the mouths didnt move or the background players were just black. it reminded me of old scooby doo episodes where you could tell what was going to be moved. overall it's now a big knock but it's a big flaw in the show.
other than that quite a few of the lines sounded bored and unrehearsed at times. they came off as a tired actress reading lines she's never seen before. it got better as the show went on but early on it was really bad.
Final Verdict: 75
Fun show, good fights, low budget
Now to go see Forrest gump....again.....sigh
