Movie Review: Playing Dead

Bonjour!

Or would it be Salut!? I never know. Anyway next review is the Fench crime comedy Playing Dead!

I promise this one will be longer than Love is strange.

Next Up: Zombeavers

Movie Review: Playing Dead

Pros:
I really like the feeling of French comedies. It's a particular balance of comedy and drama. Playing Dead is a nice blend of the two. The hyperactive actor and the serious magistrate were good foils to one another. Their ultimate relationship was pretty predictable. But I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I enjoyed the actual crime. Never quite knew who it was so it was cool to see a reveal I didn't see coming. Usually I can guess the killer right away.

The main actor was really impressive. He gave life to a pretty do mosh character but never quite made him Unlikable. The rest of the cast did a pretty good job with their roles as well.

Cons:
Usually a movies have some big glaring problems, and surprisingly this one didn't. I never really had anything glare out at me. It was just, a movie.

That's my biggest gripe. Most movies up here have a 'wow' factor. This one didn't.

'Last Days' had the amazing story and cinematography.
'Sleepless Night' had a breathtaking pace and gripping story
'The Host' was an amazing monster flick full of Humor.
'The Chaser' had tension and unease.
'The Cove' had the images of dead dolphins.
'Waltz with Bashir' had the reveal at the end

All of these has that one thing that makes you remember it. I won't remember playing dead. Like a lot of the movies it just blends in.

FINAL VERDICT: 70

Now waiting for Zombeavers to start! ZOMBIE!!! BEAVERS!!!
