Movie Review: Life of Crime

Hello!

So I'm guessing most of you are from michigan. Or Russia... Apparently I get a lot of Russian views. Anyway, this is a Detroit set crime film based on an Elmore Leonard novel. Should be good right?

Next Up: Der Samurai

Movie Review: Life of Crime

Pros:
Well, I like Mos Def (aka yasiin bey, notice the lack of capitals...) he's a charismatic dude, and a damn good actor sometimes. He doesnt get much to but I guess he works it. John Hawkes is also pretty good in this.

I enjoy Elmore Leonard's style.

Cons:
Ok, con time, you may notice the disproportionate ratio of pros to cons in this one. But unfortunately there are lots of cons. AKA nitpicks.

First off, if you're going to set a movie in Detroit, at least try to make it look like Detroit. I never on e thought "oh that looks like Detroit!" It felt like some place in the north east. (Turns out it was Connecticut.) even the name drops like Dearborn and Woodward felt fake and out of place.

Ok and then there's Anniston. Yet again she just shows she doesn't have much range. She was the issue in we're the millers. And she is again in this. She keeps getting these fluff roles that do nothing for her career. Oh well guess she's just going to be Rachel till she does of Botox overdose.

Finally the story just felt like a common Hollywood flick. No big character development or interesting plot. Just shrugworthy.

FINAL VERDICT: 41

Now to watch Der Samurai. Whatever it's about I have no idea.
