Movie Review: Blue Ruin

Every once in a while I leave a movie completely depressed. 

Kinda like that now.

Anyway, review time! Spoilers ahead!

Movie Review: Blue Ruin

Pros:
Wow, um, there are few movies out there as powerful and full of tension as this one. From the very beginning it was riveting. The tense atmosphere stayed all the way through the devastating final shoot out. There was barely any downtime from start to finish and when there was it was unnerving and still edge of your seat. 

I loved the sound design. This whole movie was basically silent and unspoken. The creaks and shuffles from around the theatre added to the eerie atmosphere. This is one perfectly sound designed film.

The main actor was great early on as the homeless man the. Completely up recognizable after he shaved.

The final pro has to go to the brutality. The sniper shot was a 'holy Shyte' moment. I saw it coming but the fact that it was a second shot was great.

Cons:
It's another slow burn, not for everyone.

The brutality could turn people off of it, and the brutal climax was heavy and devastating.

FINAL VERDICT: 97


So that's my new favorite. Now onto Keeper of lost causes!
