Welcome Back! Again!
So, as promised, I've spent the last hour making a list of my favorite actresses. This one was a lot more difficult than the favorite directors and actors lists. I'm usually not a fan of just saying 'Because they're hot' but I usually get that as a reason, so I'll add that at the end.
TOP 10 FAVORITE ACTRESSES
10. Amy Acker
A relatively recent addition to this list. She owes Joss Whedon for her career, and I don't mind. She's a great mix of beauty and brains. I always love her characters. Her character in Dollhouse was easily my favorite and the most tragic as well.
9. Jenna Fischer
Jenna Fischer is a odd choice on here. She doesn't have many movies but I really enjoy the characters she plays. I really liked her in the Office and Giant Mechanical Man. I also got to meet her in Traverse City so i'm a little biased.
8. Cate Blachett
One of the Best actresses of all times. She can play just about anyone. I've seen a lot of her movies and every time she acts its practically an Oscar potential role. A beautiful and absolutely brilliant actress. She should win Best actress this year for Blue Jasmine.
7. Emma Stone
Emma Stone came out of nowhere for Superbad. Since then she's had great movie after great movie, Zombieland, Easy A, Paperman, and The Help. She's both beautiful and a great actor. She's the single reason why I sat through Gangster Squad. She makes me see any movie with her in it.
6. Noomi Rapace
Say what you want about Rooney Mara. She played a good Lisbeth Salander. But the only Salander I openly admit to loving is Noomi Rapace. She's the original and absolutely blew me away. Since then she's had very few good roles. I enjoyed her in Dead Man Down, but she was absolutely wasted in Sherlock Holmes 2. I also really liked Prometheus, screw the Haters.
5. Rinko Kikuchi
Rinko Kikuchi hasn't been in many movies but I really like her in them. I assure you it's not because she's naked in a lot of them. That's a bonus, but I love her characters in Pacific Rim and Babel. I've never seen a good deaf-mute before but I felt so bad for her in Babel.
4. Felicia Day
She's a nerd queen. I've loved her since I first saw Dr. Horrible way back, and after that The Guild. I love her as Codex, Her neurotic quirky personality is perfect. Hell I even love her in Supernatural as the lesbian hacker who likes to mess with dean.
3. Saoirse Ronan
Saoirse Ronan came out of nowhere and got an Oscar nomination for Atonement. Since then I've been Fascinated with her. She single handedly made me love Hanna (Well, with help from the awesome score) and she's developing into a potentially huge actress as she does more. I'll see any movie she's in, I'm sick of vampires but Byzantium looks great, and I'm very interested in How I live Now.
2. Summer Glau
River Tam!!!! My single favorite female character I've ever seen. I both want to protect her and feel she could kick my ass. Since then I've been enamored with her ever since, and screw everyone, I really liked the Terminator TV show.
1. Ziyi Zhang
Surprised? A random Asian girl no one recognizes? Yeah, that's my favorite actress. She's been my Favorite since Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. She's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen and she's a damn good actress on top of it. I love the characters she plays, either the quiet girl like in Crouching Tiger and House of Flying Daggers, or the bitchy ones like in Rush Hour 2. She's a gorgeous girl and I will always go to whatever movie she's in.
- Honorable Mentions -
Ellen Page
- Loved her as Juno, and she has multiple movies that I love, but simple didn't make the final cut.
Helena Bonham Carter
- A Tim Burton staple, for obvious reasons, she's quirky as hell, but ultimately I wouldn't go see a movie just because she's in it.
Emma Watson
- Loved her as Hermione, and she's maturing very well, I'm hoping she breaks out and does even better roles. we'll see.
- The 'Because They're Hot' List -
Scarlett Johansson
- Yeah...
Milla Jovovich
- Multipass!
Kate Beckinsale
- Her in black Leather...
