TV Season Review: The Newsroom, Season 2

Hello Internet!

So it feels like its been a while since I've posted stuff, so here you go! another review!

I'll post a 'what's been up' post after this, and possibly another series review after this.

TV SEASON REVIEW: The Newsroom Season 2

Writing:
Somehow Aaron Sorkin has slowly become one of my favorite writers in hollywood. he never dumbs down his writing, which happens to be his biggest flaw as well. while I love the insanely intelligent dialogue a lot of people don't understand it.

While I feel like I can make a stab at America right now, I guess I'll not

Well, I kinda just did didn't I...oops

Anyway I love the Writing of this series, It's very fast and very smart, Every single character is smart, and they never feel the need to insult lower intelligence.

I did have a few issues with this season though. The way the 'africa' storyline was resolved was odd. The sequence when the little boy was shot was confusing and it took me a while to realize what had happened. it seemed a bit jumbled, but it was cleared up later in the show.

The Finale Definitely sets up some pretty interesting non news related plot lines to come. I look forward to it

Acting:
This show is full of great actors. from Jeff Daniels to Emily Mortimer the show is very well acted. all of the large ensemble had good moments and I enjoyed a lot of their storylines.

Did they add the Sloan Sabbith nude picture storyline because Olivia Munn had the same thing happen to her? and way to go HBO avoiding gratuitous boob shots. You've really matured.

Memorability:
The shows biggest issues is it's not really Memorable. I love the show, but by next season I'll completely forget what happened in this season. It's odd, the show is great just not memorable. It might be because I watch the show for dialogue the first time. I'll probably be rewatching the season again when it comes out on DVD.

Yes I collect DVD's, Is that a problem?

FINAL VERDICT: 87
Great show, amazing writing, but ultimately not as memorable as it should be.

So there's that, another review coming tomorrow night, it'll be a lot longer. and a whole lot more sarcastic, and yeah, it'll be negative, very negative....oh so very negative.....
