Hows 2014 so far? Nothing different yet? Yeah I know the feeling.
Anyway just finished watching a rather depressing Christmas movie I got for Christmas (dad couldn't find anything else I guess)
Pros:
I'll hand it to the actors, they did a pretty good job. the whole movie was very sullen and serious. I went in expecting a comedy and it ended up being a very sullen drama. Giamatti and Rudd did very well as their characters, particularly Paul Giamatti.
The camera work surprised me through some of the movie, it felt more complex then I would have expected ad the color palette fit the grim tone of the movie.
Cons:
Well, It was depressing as hell. I mean really, it's a Christmas movie with absolutely no cheer. Kinda reminded me of Sunshine Jr. but with more likable characters.
The story became rather predictable as it went on. I called that the lock box would be stolen, and a few other plot points. basically It started different and just ended up formulaic like any other movie.
Oh, and I couldn't understand Sally Hawkins at all. was she speaking English?
Final Verdict: 51
Good acting, but too depressing.
Now to find something fun to do! Maybe an origami Tutorial!
