It's 2014!
Woo Happy New Years Everyone! (Is it new years or new year?) I ended up celebrating midnight while watching The Lone Ranger (the biggest box office Bomb of 2013)
And since I've never seen it before, I'm obligated to bring you a new review!
Pros:
It was actually not nearly as bad as I was expecting. It reminded me of a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, just in the wild west. Usually I dont like cowboy movies. they feel empty and deserted. but I love the pistols and the style. The whole Gunslinger thing is awesome to me. Lone Ranger surprised e, it was dark and gritty, fun action, lots of cool little period stuff.
A lot of the negatives I heard were Johnny Depp as Tonto. I thought he was fun, basically just Jack Sparrow in Indian War Paint. With a bird hat. (that reminds me of a nightmare before christmas quote) anyway he was fun. Armie hammer was good as the Ranger, kinda got drowned by Johnny Depp.
The action is one of the high points. It's rollicking and fun and has all sorts of inventive and cool little moments. The Train car scenes reminded me of Shanghai Noon. Jackie Chan as Tonto.
Cons:
It's a little long. It feels over stuffed and stretched out in the middle of the movie. like they had tons of ideas that needed to be crammed in.
In the overall scope of moviedom it's a pretty average movie, not as well made as the first pirates movie, on par with the second i'd say (except pirates are cooler than cowboys) It just feels like another one thrown out randomly
Final Verdict: 78
Fun movie, better than expected, not as good as other action movies, western
There you have it, now it's time to fall asleep!
