Good evening!
Theres less than 2 hours left in 2013. Just walked out of Walter Mitty, and if my New Years eve movies say anything it's that next year should be an adventure. Last new Years I saw Les Miserables. and 2013 was depressing, now 2014 should be a radical adventure! right?
Pros:
First off the cinematography was amazing. everything looked beautiful and flowed together. all of the transitions and the unique visuals and landscapes. this is a Cinematographer's masterpiece. If this doesn't get a Nomination the Academy is whack. Yeah, 90's slang!
Second off, I can't believe this is Ben Stiller directed. How does he go from Zoolander and Tropic thunder to this? It's completely different from anything I've seen before. Stiller deserves a lot of credit for never letting it get too comedic. it stayed very level headed the whole times, even in the totally random, and sometimes totally awesome Zone out moments. I Loved the action scene fighting over the Stretch Armstrong.
The actors really fit the characters. even Kristen Wiig who's sometimes too prone to SNL type characters. I thought they all fit, and Sean penn was great as the stoic Photographer. Overall great Casting.
Cons:
The Movie Was awfully slow at times. I enjoyed it but I can see where the movie would be too slow for some people.
The only other thing I had against it was I had a hard time believing it was actually happening. I was sure there'd be another reveal of it all being a dream.
Final Say:
There's not a whole lot negative about this movie. I Thoroughly enjoyed it, Expect it on the Top 100 List when I recompile it all.
Final Verdict: 93
Amazing Visuals and fun style, but a bit plodding and unbelievable
So that's that, I'd say it's my Last Review of 2013 but I'm currently Watching the Lone Ranger, so that'll be up tonight too!
Happy New Years everybody!
