TCFF Movie Review 5: The Last Days

Well, I'm trying really hard to find cons for this movie. So just a warning up front, the 2 cons are unbelievable nitpicky.

I might just gush all over this film, so beware if gushing

MOVIE REVIEW: The Last Days

Pros:
Holy shit!

I haven't been engrossed in a movie this much in nearly 5 years. From the first shot I was drawn in. I cannot express enough how much I love this movie. It rivals The Chaser and Let the right one in for my favorite thriller films from TCFF.

The cinematography was astounding. Only one movie was better to me (see comparisons) the shot in the supermarket, watch for it, it's the long one. Absolutely mindblowing.

The movie never went to comical, even with the slightly unbelievable pandemic it never felt hokey.

Cons:
There's a random bear?

Yeah that's about all I have. The bear scene was great tho.. So that should say how little that hurt the movie

Comparison:
Children of Men, this movie was about a pandemic that's not just a plague, acute agoraphobia, I love agoraphobia.

Also there is a 2 minute long shot in a burning supermarket during a large riot like clash. It was amazing. And all the way through the pacing was exquisite.

The whole feeling of Last Days was very similar to Children of men, that very bleak Hopeless feeling.

Pacing:
The movie was amazingly edited and assembled, it never let up and I was never bored. I loved it from start to finish

Acting:
I just want to say that the partner was Spanish Ian mcshane, and all around they did a really good job. Especially the lead character. And it was cool to see a mowgli.

Final verdict: 98
Yeah, a near perfect score, I don't know what would make it perfect. But it deserves the highest rating possible. The overlong 18 production companies lost them 2 points...yeah

So, yeah, now waiting for Unhung hero, a documentary about short penises....so prepare for dick jokes.
