So, here i am again, watching yet another depressing Indie Drama. I'll say it now, while theres still about 5 minutes left in is, its very good, but it is so difficult to watch sometimes. I feel so sorry for both of them. the movie actually stirred me, like, crazy huh?
anyway, yeah im getting all sappy
MOVIE REVIEW: Like Crazy
Pros:
The acting is suburb, Yelchin and, um, never before seen girl, (felicity jones), are fantastic, somehow they make a very difficult topic watchable. i was originally just going to turn this on in the background as i do other things, but i found myself totally transfixed. the director somehow managed to make them both likable and unlikable at the same time, and even the slightly ambiguous ending matched the tone of the movie perfectly, im amazed i didnt watch this when it was in theatres and i really regret it.
Cons:
well, i cant really come up with any cons, i've been in many o the situations in the movie and ill tell you they handled them very realistically. but i guess its a con that they made me remember them? yeah i'll put that as a con.
Cast:
Yelchin, Felicity jones and Jennifer Lawrence, yeah, she's in this too, which surprised the hell out of me when she appeared, all blew me away, especially Felicity jones, im sure she's been in many things, but she's completely new to me, reminded me of Emma Roberts, from 'its kind of a funny story'. all of the cast did great, and i cant praise it enough.
Direction:
I know, throwing a new topic out, but i feel the director deserves some credit, he and the other writer deserve a lot of praise for delving into such a difficult topic, and succeeding in making it a watchable film. these are the kind of films i want to make.
Cinematography:
not much in this category, all just really natural shots. i have to hand it to him the, the use of hiding half the screen during the emotional scenes really added to the feeling of separation between them.
Overall:
overall i cannot recommend this movie enough, it was great and so well made, it might be while till i watch it again, but i thought it was a great movie, and i highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good realistic romancish movie.
Final Verdict: 95
extremely well made, one of my favorites ive watched in months.
