Movie Review 17: The Wolverine

Greetings and salutations internet!

Time to review the latest Comic film. here i was gonna try to say something witty, but i didnt sleep last night, so im out of wit at the moment.

not to say the review wont be full of it.

Anyway, without further delay...

MOVIE REVIEW: The Wolverine

Pros:
It is head over heels better than xmen origins wolverine.

I'll be honest, this might be my favorite xmen movie, the only competition is X2, which might win because Nightcrawler is a badass.

anyway, onto the actual review. it was pretty cool. was surprisingly devoid of mutants. which was perfect. every xmen movie insists on throwing all sorts of random useless mutants at the audience just because they can. did we really need Banshee, havoc, darwin, and Butterfly girl in first class? or Deadpool wannabe in Origins? or spike/multiple man/ omega tattoo girl, other random shitty mutants. Wolverine has a total of 3 mutants, wolverine, red headed asian, and Viper....that's it, they made it more grounded in the world.

that count doesn't include the 2 surprise mutants after the credits...

anyway i loved the asian themes in the movie. I've always loved Japanese culture. it was a really cool setting for such a brash character as Wolverine.

the bullet train fight scene was pretty bad ass!

Cons:
the movie was good, up until the final fight. where the hell did the giant adamantium samurai come from? it seemed so grounded up until it went in a random sci-fi twist, just because.

it was also surprisingly lacking in action. there were maybe 3 action scenes, plus the random Jaegar samurai vs wolverine battle.

Acting:
the acting was fine, a lot of people trying to speak English with Japanese accents. then Hugh jackman growling all the time. the red haired Asian girl was a really cool character and i look forward to seeing her in the next film.

Action:
this is an action film, and at times Wolverine give some awesome thrills, the bullet train fight is a perfect example. otherwise the other scenes were mostly just wolverine getting injured. then limping around for the rest of the film.

Hugh Jackman's Physique:
as good as ever, yet i wanted him to start singing. damn les Miserables.

Final Verdict: 78
I enjoyed it quite a bit, up until the ending. i love all of the Japanese culture stuff and the lack of useless mutants, but it's mostly just Logan lumbering around partially injured through most of it.

Well that's it, it was fine, and had some fun moment, but it wasnt super special.
